Digital scratch card promotions, online and at the counter
A digital scratch card hides a prize under a panel the customer scratches with a finger or a mouse. It takes a few seconds, works well on a phone and suits a single prize reveal, whether online or in a physical shop.
How a digital scratch card works
The customer opens the card, scratches the panel and sees what they won: a discount, a free item, free delivery or nothing this time. A winner gets a code to use at checkout or show at the till.
The result should be decided before anyone scratches. In DealCraft the server picks it first, so scratching only reveals it, and a customer who would rather not scratch can press a reveal button instead.
When a scratch card beats a wheel
A wheel shows every prize before the spin, which is good for catching attention. A scratch card shows only one result, which feels more personal and keeps the prize list out of sight.
Scratch cards fit places where the customer already has a phone in hand: an order confirmation email, a text message, a receipt or a sign at the counter. A wheel fits better as a pop-up on the shop's own website.
Prizes for a scratch card
The rule is the same as for any chance game: mostly small prizes and a few good ones. Free delivery, a small discount on the next order and a free add-on with a minimum spend all work.
A scratch card sent after an order pairs well with a prize for the next order. It turns a finished purchase into a reason to come back.
Running a scratch card in a physical shop
Print a QR code on a sign, a receipt or a table card. The customer scans it, scratches on their phone and shows the code at the till.
Staff need a quick way to check that a code is real and unused. DealCraft gives counter staff a PIN-protected link where they enter the code and mark it used, and they see nothing else in your account.

Questions
- What is the difference between a scratch card and a spin to win wheel?
- Both are chance games with the same kind of odds and prizes behind them. A wheel shows all the prizes and suits a website pop-up. A scratch card reveals one result and suits links, emails and QR codes.
- Do digital scratch cards work on a phone?
- Yes. The customer scratches with a finger, and there is a reveal button for anyone who cannot or does not want to scratch.
- How do staff check a scratch card prize in the shop?
- With DealCraft, staff open a PIN-protected link on the till device, enter the customer's code and mark it used. A code that is already used or has expired is refused.
