WooCommerce spin to win: discount games that work with your checkout

The DealCraft plugin connects a spin to win wheel, scratch card or mystery box to a WooCommerce shop. The game runs on DealCraft, and the plugin makes sure every prize code is valid at the cart and is spent exactly once.

What the plugin does

It adds the DealCraft pop-up to your store and connects reward codes to the WooCommerce coupon field. A winner enters the code, or taps the claim button in the game, and the discount appears in the cart.

Percent off, amount off, a free product matched by SKU and free delivery all work. A minimum spend on a prize is checked against the rest of the cart.

How codes are checked and spent

The plugin checks a code when it is entered at the cart, then checks again at checkout without any cache. The code is spent only when the order is paid.

If an order is cancelled, refunded or fails, the code is given back. While an order waits for payment, for example a bank transfer on hold, the code stays locked to that order so it cannot be used on another one.

Prizes that fit a WooCommerce shop

Free delivery and a small percentage off with a minimum spend are the safest start. A free product works well when you map it to a SKU you keep in stock.

The budget and the maximum number of winners are set in DealCraft and enforced on its server, so a promotion that spreads further than planned still stops at the amount you chose.

Install it

In the DealCraft dashboard, open Integrations and choose WooCommerce. The dashboard creates your key pair and gives you the plugin file.

In WordPress, go to Plugins, then Add New, then Upload Plugin, and upload the file. Paste the keys into the plugin settings and publish your game. Later versions arrive through the normal WordPress plugin updates.

Why it does not create WooCommerce coupons

Many wheel plugins create a real WooCommerce coupon for every prize. Those coupons can be copied, shared and reused, and they pile up in the coupon list.

The DealCraft plugin builds the discount in memory from DealCraft's answer for that one code. Nothing is saved in WooCommerce that could be spent behind DealCraft's back, so the state of every code lives in one place.

Questions

Does the plugin create WooCommerce coupons?
No. The discount is built from DealCraft's answer for each code at the cart, so no coupon is saved in WooCommerce.
What happens to a prize code when an order is refunded?
The plugin gives the code back when an order is cancelled, refunded or fails, and the prize's value returns to the game's budget.
Is there a Shopify version?
Not yet. The DealCraft website pop-up runs on any site, Shopify included, but there is no Shopify app that takes the codes at checkout automatically.
What does the plugin need?
WordPress with WooCommerce, PHP 7.2 or newer and a DealCraft account. The free plan is enough to start.
